I bike commute to work and have probably put 2-3 thousand miles on this bike since I bought it back in 05. I am still using the original tires and brakes. I don't know if they have changed the seat style since I bought mine but the seat is gel and still as comfortable as day 1. I ride mine on light trails, city streets, and along the Lakeshore Trial in Chicago, where I live. This is the most durable bike I've ever had. I've even wiped out a time or two and the bike is no worse for wear.
