The 8-ft Minnesota Fats 400 billiard table has modern drop pockets and a 3/4-in thick slate core playing surface with a professional-grade wool/nylon green cloth. Its high-quality pedestal legs provide the table with superior stability for an even playing surface.

I got the table for christmas. I was told that it is a slate table, in the store, and over the phone. I realized it wasnt slate when I noticed an (after market) indention on the playing surface. If the table is slate it would not indent like wood.
